New Seasons Donates to ESDF The Evergreen School District Foundation received a $5,000 corporate donation to its general account from New Seasons Market on Saturday November 12th, 2011.
New Seasons Market also conducted a fundraiser on 11/12 & 11/13 from noon to 4 pm. Members of their staff, volunteers from Northwest Carnival, and several ESDF board members volunteered their time to sell Elephant Ears, Hot Cocoa and Hot Apple Cider at the front doors of New Seasons Market in Vancouver's Fisher's Landing: They provided 100% of the food items and 100% of the proceeds.
Kris Greene, president for the Evergreen School District Foundation, said he was impressed with the community outreach the employees at New Seasons displayed over the week long grand opening. "They truly made this grand opening a community event, one in which many of my friends and my family enjoyed richly. Every person I met while selling hot cider expressed their gratitude in what we as a foundation do to support our students and teachers and I want to salute New Seasons Market for making it all happen this last weekend to promote our work."
That generosity will have an impressive impact on quite a few classrooms. The ESDF board has decided to increase the amount ESDF provided to its Teacher Grant program. Taking into consideration News Seasons Market generous donation, their "Bag it Forward program" and "School Fruit program," the board has decided to raise the budgeted Teacher Grant program amount by $10,000 this year.
